“When you are in a dark place, you sometimes think you’ve been buried. Perhaps you’ve been planted. Bloom.”

Cancer is its own unique struggle, and all stages of survivorship come with their own unique challenges, too. Cancer literally changes the lens through which you see the world.

Meanwhile, the everyday ups and downs of life continue for you and your loved ones, making it even harder to navigate.

That’s why I created Shared Strength – therapy by and for cancer survivors.

Shared Strength is a safe environment to explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors without judgment – and with someone who gets it.

Simply telling and retelling your cancer survivorship or caregiving story has therapeutic benefits, including but not limited to reducing your trauma response, fostering insight into oneself, and empowerment to live an authentic, intentional life –making the most of every day.

Online & In-Person Individual Therapy for Cancer Survivors & Caregivers in Connecticut

Shared Strength offers individual therapy for all stages of cancer survivorship and caregiving.

By all stages, I really do mean all stages. For many, the end of active treatment can be especially difficult.

You may be experiencing less support from family, friends, and doctors, “because you’re done.” But you’re not done. Cancer has a lifelong mental, emotional, and physical impact, and many struggle with not actively doing anything to “cure or treat” their cancer anymore, while simultaneously dealing with the lingering fear of recurrence.

The emotional distress of cancer is very real. You may be experiencing fear, sadness, anger, anxiety, depression, or uncertainty on a daily basis.

Maybe you’re waiting for results, facing future scans, or realizing you no longer recognize yourself in the mirror after treatment.

Maybe you look “back to normal,” but you don’t feel that way.

Or maybe you’re caring for a loved one and don’t want to burden them with the challenging emotions and changes you’re facing in your life, too.

Whichever stage of cancer survivorship or caregiving you are in, you are not alone.

Online & In-Person Family Therapy for Cancer Survivors & Caregivers in Connecticut

Whether you’re a survivor or a caregiver, you already know how much cancer can impact your loved ones, too. That’s why Shared Strength also offers family therapy.

It’s normal to pull away from family and friends, while needing and wanting their support.

It’s normal for your role in the family to shift in unexpected – and often challenging – ways.

And it’s normal to need a little extra support to navigate these changes as a family.
